Forty years in film. A continent of stories. And now, a morning route in Panama City Beach.
Ed Gutentag spent four decades doing something most people only dream about — capturing real life on film. Documentary work. Drone cinematography. Storytelling that crossed oceans and continents.
He worked out of Topanga Canyon, California, long before it became a destination. The work was his identity.
When Ed moved to the Florida Panhandle, he wasn’t looking for a job. He was looking for space. The Gulf, the white sand, the slower pace of a place that doesn’t need a filter.
He found Kova Mobility through a job listing. What he found after that was something different.
Ed runs the morning route out of Panama City Beach. He picks up his rider, drives them to Grand Boulevard, and waits. When the shift is done, he brings them home.
Between pickups, he works. Camera out. Eyes open. Still telling stories — just on the Panhandle now.
He drove for Uber and Lyft before this. He’ll tell you plainly: there’s no comparison. The difference isn’t the car or the app. It’s the relationship.
With everything going AI, it’s important to have great human contact.
